Requesting a police report/ taking a transit flight while being out-of-status

Hello,

I am wondering whether I should be able to get a police report that states that I have no criminal record (I was told that I can receive it at the Hall of Justice, in San Francisco, where I currently reside) without my being out-of-status showing up to the person that's doing the check for me. I had called them and had mentioned that, and received a response that they only check for criminal activity (i.e., arrests etc.) and that the immigration status would not come up, but I wanted to double-check. I had entered this country back in 2003 on a student visa, and have no criminal record.

My second question is whether I can take a transit flight out of the country (i.e., San Francisco- Miami- Santo Domingo, D.R.), or if I have to take a flight out of the U.S. directly. I would not be staying in Miami, but solely using it for the connection flight.
