I have a question regarding I-864. Currently my USC husband cannot meet poverty guidelines with his income and we are having trouble getting joint sponsor. My question is we have two cars at the moment so can we use one of our cars that we are financing as assets to make up the difference or do we have to completely own the cars to qualify as assets? and do we have to only submit kelley blue book value of the car?
p.s I know to use assets it has to be 3x the difference to be approved for the spouse of USC.

You can use assets to meet
You can use assets to meet the requirements of the I-864. However, it might be tough to meet the requirements with your cars if you do not own them outright. However, if the value of your equity in the cars as determined by bluebook value less what you owe is sufficient then you could give it a try. I would never be comfortable submitting an I-864 using only cars that aren't owned as assets.
